Bold Pastels
Bolder pastels, mix matched in very unique ways were seen on the runways for spring 2012. Designers like Prada, Versace, Oscar de la Renta and many more showed us pastel blue, yellow, pink and green in every fabric imaginable. These colors you'd expect to see on just flowing sun dresses and loose fitting shirts… nope… these gorgeous colors were given an edgy look by popping up on denim, leather and tight fitting dresses.Image left: Prada Spring 2012

Bright Primary Colors
Designers showed us rainbows on the runways in bright yellow, orange, red, blue and green. There seemed to be nothing stopping them this season, so don’t be afraid to enjoy any color you love this spring from brights to pastels. Image left: Peter Som

High Gloss Fabrics
High gloss fabrics that resembled waves of water garnished the models at Theysken Theory, along with Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Reed Krakoff. Pair this high gloss fabric with linen bermuda shorts or with a sequin skirt for two very workable day or night looks. Image left: Theyskens Theory

High Waists
Designers have been touching or rather pushing this trend for a few seasons in a row. High waists on pleated pants, pencil and maxi skirts as well as shorts were seen on Gucci, Dries van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana and Suno.Image left: Gucci

Mad Prints
Prints you never thought would go together, apparently go together! I guess we needed DVF, Yves Saint Laurent and Vera Wang to show us how to work it! Pair those wild prints together and if that's just too much for you... simplify the look by pairing your favorite print top with denim or any neutral for the same great look.Image left: Diana von Furstenberg

Spring Makeup and Hair Trends
Purple seems to be the "in" color this spring along with bright berry, coral and tangerine lips. Slow down the tweezing! Thicker and fuller brows can be seen on anyone from top models to celebrities. Put the blow dryer away this spring because bouncy and loose waves are in.Image left: Moschino

Modern Romance Trend
This trend incorporates everything sweet and elegant with classic or even edgy looks. Pair a ruffled top with your favorite tailored slacks or add some lace with a hot pair of leather leggings. Image left: Oscar de la Renta

Prints Inspired by Nature
Peter Som, Dries van Noten, Suno and Dolce & Gabbana along with MANY other designers gave us stunning prints inspired by nature. From fish and coral at Versace to little birds at Carolina Herrera, there was nothing left to be seen when it came to finding inspiration from nature.Image left: Peter Som

Pleats
Nothing new here but seeing pleats in fresh pastels and in flowing light sheer fabrics gave the ordinary a refreshing look. Akris, Chloe, Gucci and Prada were among the many designers who incorporated pleat details in their 2012 spring collections. Image left: Prada

Sporty
Khaki and safari sport inspired looks were seen at Michael Kors with oversized scarves and more tailored preppy versions were seen at Tommy Hilfiger. Donna Karen, Victoria Beckham, Rag and Bone, Vera Wang and many more designers gave us many variations to sport this sporty look for spring.Image left: Tommy Hilfiger

White Dress Shirts
The white dress shirt is such a staple in fashion and should already be owned by every women in the world, but designers managed to deconstruct it and were able to give us fresh variations for spring 2012.Image left: Ralph Lauren

Until next season...
